“ Movies are a dirty business. What we'll see on screen in May is The Avengers team fighting an alien enemy (NOT the Skrulls,
according to producer Kevin Feighe) in downtown New York. Where they
shot it, in mid-June of 2011, was in an abandoned, enormous railroad
shop and turnaround building, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was in the
low 90s outside of the main building (seen in the background here with Mark Ruffalo and director Joss Whedon); it felt like it had to be over 100 degrees inside the steel and glass structure. Jeremy Renner made a crack or two about it raining down asbestos on them during the shoot from the cold-riveted beams above. ”
People: Mark Ruffalo, Joss Whedon
